Last week, the Kids Are Kids! Team joined together to celebrate the Miracle Month of May, created by The Miracle Babies Foundation to raise awareness and funds for premature babies and their families in communities across Australia.

Afternoon tea treats were home baked and contributed by staff members for a gold coin donation to The Miracle Babies Foundation. Staff member Laura Sarubin, Senior Physiotherapist at Kids Are Kids! attended the afternoon with her three gorgeous 20 month old daughters Felicity, Anna and Isabella who were born at 32 weeks on 15 September 2015. Their stay in NICU at King Edward for 6 weeks provided the vital support needed, and a further 2 weeks following at Fiona Stanley.

On Skype, Alisa Dufty, Senior Speech Pathologist who is based in our Great Southern Office in Mt Barker joined in the Afternoon Tea. Alisha is Mum to two young boys, Ethan and Chase, at just over 30 weeks Chase was born via emergency c-section weighing a little over 1.5kg on 22 September 2017.

Parents Alisha and Grant, with Baby Chase born at just 30 weeks.

Miracle Babies Foundation provided Laura, Alisha and their families with the resources and support they needed right at the beginning of their journey. We continue to assist families with babies and children born prematurely through our group programs such as the infant massage program, individual therapy plans, education and support.

Kids Are Kids! raised $113.75 for the Foundation in the Month of May through the Staff Afternoon Tea, you can still donate online through the Miracle Babies Foundation website.
