Diagnostic assessments

Kids Are Kids! is fully certified to guide you through the process of a formal assessment to determine your child’s capabilities to assist with diagnoses in a variety of functional areas.

Here for you

We can help you understand your child’s strengths, challenges and potential.  If your child receives a formal diagnosis, we will support and guide you through the process of funding and the options available to your family.

Why early intervention is so important

Early intervention in any childhood diagnosis is important for a child’s development potential.  Early diagnosis following assessment will enable your child to begin receiving therapy and give them the best chance to flourish in later years.

The gold standard in autism diagnostic assessment

We conduct a holistic autism assessment involving completion of standardised assessment tools (including the ADOS-2), parent interview, a general language assessment (if required) and observation (if required) of your child at home or your child’s school or childcare.

Our speech pathologists and psychologists then consult to score the assessment tools and compile a detailed written report providing the gold standard in autism assessment by addressing the DSM—V criteria for autism spectrum disorder.

Do I need a referral for a diagnostic assessment?

You do not need a referral but please contact our staff to discuss your individual requirements.
