Early Childhood Approach
What is the early childhood approach?
The early years are a critical time in a child’s development and essential to ensuring they have the opportunity to flourish in later life.
The early childhood approach is aimed to give children 0-7 with neurodevelopmental conditions and those experiencing difficulty with their development, learning, communication, behaviour, movement, and/or mental health, supports to ensure they get the best possible start in these critical years.
Our Services
Family-centred practice is the key to our services and based on best practice guidelines.
We are focused on your child and the world around them. You are key to their journey. We set goals and strategies based on your priorities to achieve the best outcomes so your child can flourish and reach their potential.
Kids Are Kids! is registered to deliver Early Childhood Supports under the NDIS. Our team work closely together and alongside families providing:
- Occupational Therapy
- Physiotherapy
- Psychology
- Speech Pathology
One of your allocated professionals will be your keyworker. Your keyworker will be the main worker involved for your family and will organise and coordinate the supports for your child.
A key worker and therapy team can assist with the following common concerns:
- Sensory and emotional regulation
- Connections and relationships
- Communication including expression and ability to socialise with peers
- Mobility and fine motor skills
- Physical skills and functioning
- Difficulty eating or drinking
- Dependency to dress, sleep, bath and use the toilet
Our Key Workers are guided by your priorities and values to support your child’s goals, with you as an equal partner.
You will gain knowledge and confidence to implement skills in everyday routines and to encourage daily practice with your child.
We customise our support to the individual needs of your child and family. Therapy may take place in one of our centres, your home, school, daycare, community settings or through telehealth.
