Brave Steps Anxiety Program

Brave Steps is a free 8-week program designed to support children experiencing anxiety. Using an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approach, the group helps children manage their symptoms of anxiety and take steps toward what matters most to them.

A parallel parent group runs alongside the child sessions, led by an experienced psychologist. Parents learn practical strategies to support their child and reflect on their own role in managing anxiety at home.

Our program is neurodiversity-affirming and strengths-based, welcoming both autistic and non-autistic children. Sessions are facilitated by Kids Are Kids! psychologists and occupational therapists.

Program Structure:

  • 8 child sessions
  • 7 mandatory parent sessions
  • Pre-group interview with a psychologist (phone or telehealth)

Suitable for children aged 7+
